Climbers GA Pro App
An internal desktop tool the Climbers Hub team uses to create, monitor and tune Google App campaigns for the mobile apps we publish ourselves.
Who uses it
Only members of our own user-acquisition team. The tool is not sold, offered to other advertisers, or used to manage accounts for third parties. It runs on each team member's computer and talks to the Google Ads API with that person's own Google sign-in, through the manager (MCC) accounts that own our advertising accounts.
What it does
Create App campaigns
Builds App campaigns (install or value goals) from our creatives, text and settings. New campaigns are created paused by default, so a person reviews them before they spend.
Report on performance
Reads cost, installs, CPI, ROAS, CTR and conversion rate per campaign, ad group, country, placement and creative asset, so the team can compare results.
Adjust budgets and targets
Applies rules the team defines (for example, raise budget when ROAS stays above target) to change budgets and tCPA / tROAS on our own campaigns.
Clean up disapproved assets
Finds images and videos Google has disapproved and removes them from the ads, so ad groups keep serving.
How it works
- Runs locally on the user's computer (macOS or Windows) as a small web app opened in the browser at
localhost. There is no hosted server and no shared database. - Authentication uses Google OAuth 2.0. The refresh token is stored only on that computer.
- Creative videos are uploaded to our own YouTube channels with the YouTube Data API before being attached to campaigns.
- Every API call is counted locally so the tool stays inside its daily quota. When Google reports the quota is used up, the tool pauses all calls until it resets.
Technical details are on the API design page.
